Shimla, July 5 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday felicitated Mount Everest summiteer Ruchi Thakur and announced a cash reward of Rs one lakh in recognition of her achievement.
Ruchi Thakur, a resident of Karsog tehsil in Mandi district, called on the Chief Minister at his official residence, Oak Over, following her successful ascent of the world's highest peak on May 21, 2026.
Congratulating the young mountaineer, Sukhu said her achievement would inspire the younger generation to pursue excellence with determination, courage and perseverance. He honoured Ruchi Thakur and announced the cash incentive in recognition of her outstanding accomplishment.
