Shimla, July 29 -- The Himachal Pradesh Government has reduced the pass fee for private vehicles using sealed and restricted roads in Shimla by promulgating the Shimla Road Users and Pedestrians (Public Safety and Convenience) Amendment Ordinance, 2026.

According to the ordinance, the annual pass fee for a private vehicle on a sealed road has been reduced from Rs 15,000 to Rs 8,000, while the annual fee for a restricted road has been cut from Rs 5,000 to Rs 3,000.

The government has also introduced the option of obtaining passes for a six-month period. Vehicle owners will now have to pay Rs 4,500 for a six-month pass on a sealed road and Rs 2,000 for a restricted road.
