Shimla, Aug. 1 -- Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday visited rain and landslide-affected areas of Chamba district to assess the damage caused during the ongoing monsoon, assuring affected families of all possible government support while stating that helicopter services to the district are likely to commence by the end of this year or early next year.
The Chief Minister inspected the affected areas on the ground and interacted with local residents to understand the extent of losses and the problems being faced by them in the aftermath of the heavy rains and landslides.
Sukhu first visited the Sheetla bridge and Rana Mohalla area of Sultanpur, where extensive damage has been reported during the current monsoon season.
