Shimla, Sept. 30 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday directed the Power Department to file an affidavit before the court for taking over the 66 MW Dhaulasidh Hydro Power Project being constructed on the Beas river by Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVNL).
Presiding over a meeting of the Power Department here, Sukhu said the state government was ready to pay the first instalment towards the cost of the project to facilitate its takeover in the interest of Himachal Pradesh.
He said the state government would not compromise on the interests of the people and was committed to protecting the state's wealth and natural resources.
