Shimla, March 11 -- Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday inaugurated a robotic surgery facility at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, installed at a cost of Rs 28.44 crore.

He said the patients in the state are now receiving world-class robotic surgery services within government hospitals.

The Chief Minister said the facility would significantly strengthen minimally invasive and advanced surgical procedures in specialties such as general surgery, gastro surgery, oncology and gynecology. He said the new robotic system would enable greater precision in surgeries, reduce complications and shorten recovery time for patients.
