Shimla, Aug. 4 -- Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday said the Himachal Pradesh government was making sustained efforts to translate the vision and policies of the state's first Chief Minister, Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar, into reality through various development initiatives aimed at building a prosperous and self-reliant state.

Addressing a function at the Vidhan Sabha complex to mark the 120th birth anniversary of Dr Parmar, the Chief Minister said implementing the ideals of the architect of Himachal Pradesh in letter and spirit would be the true tribute to his legacy.

He said Dr Parmar had played a pivotal role in securing full statehood for Himachal Pradesh through his determined efforts and farsighted leadership.
