Shimla, Oct. 1 -- Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday announced an increase in the support price of milk from December 1 and raised the procurement price of apples under the Market Intervention Scheme from Rs 12 to Rs 13 per kg, saying the measures would strengthen the rural economy and increase farmers' incomes.
Addressing a public meeting at Chirgaon in the Rohru Assembly constituency, Sukhu said the state government was making continuous efforts to strengthen the rural economy and increase the income of farmers, apple growers and livestock farmers.
