Shimla, Oct. 3 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday, announced that 4,000 more teachers would be appointed in the state within the next six months, saying education, healthcare and strengthening the rural economy remained key priorities of the government.

Addressing a public gathering at Nogli in Rampur Assembly constituency of Shimla district, Sukhu said more than 10,000 teachers had already been recruited during the tenure of the present government.

He said more than 150 CBSE schools had been opened across Himachal Pradesh to provide quality education closer to the homes of students, particularly those in rural areas.
