Shimla, June 6 -- The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet approved the Policy for 'Regularisation of Certain Encroachments on Government Land, 2026', aimed at providing relief to landless families and marginal farmers occupying government land for residential, agricultural and horticultural purposes, while also clearing a host of welfare, employment, healthcare and rural development measures at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
The policy, framed in compliance with directions of the Supreme Court, seeks to address humanitarian concerns of landless families and small farmers in possession of government land. The proposal has been sent to the Centre for approval.
