Hamirpur (Himachal), March 18 -- Gandharva Rathore, the Deputy Commissioner of Hamirpur district in Himachal Pradesh, has directed officials of the Jal Shakti Department to pay special attention to the quality of drinking water in the district. She instructed them to conduct water sampling and testing, ensure the cleaning of all water sources, and raise awareness among the general public regarding these issues.
The directive was issued after about 50 people, including schoolchildren, fell prey to jaundice in ten villages of the Swahal area, located on the outskirts of Hamirpur.
