Bhubaneswar, March 16 -- The Rajya Sabha elections in Odisha witnessed intense political drama, cross-voting and allegations of irregularities as the results saw the BJP winning two seats, and the BJD securing one.

BJP-backed Independent candidate and former union minister Dillip Ray captured the fourth seat.

BJP Odisha president Manmohan Samal and sitting BJP MP Sujit Kumar were elected to the Rajya Sabha from Odisha. From the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Santrupta Mishra won a seat, while BJP-backed Independent candidate and former union minister Dillip Ray secured the fourth seat after a close contest.
