Chamba/Shimla, Feb. 23 -- Following the recent encounter between security forces and terrorists in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, a high alert has been sounded across Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.
Superintendent of Police Chamba, Vijay Saklani said, "In view of the Kishtwar incident, the district police have been directed to remain on maximum alert."The move comes amid apprehensions that militants may attempt to flee towards adjoining areas. Acting swiftly, the district administration and police have sealed all entry and exit points along the Chamba-Jammu and Kashmir border. Security has been tightened on all major and interior routes, with intensified patrolling in vulnerable stretches.
