Beirut, June 27 -- Hezbollah has flatly rejected the trilateral agreement between the US, Israel and Lebanon, calling it a "humiliation", a "disgrace," and a virtual surrender of Lebanese sovereignty.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the deal on Friday following several days of arduous negotiations, though there were no substantial differences from the ceasefire that Israel and Lebanon were already operating under. Neither deal involved the Iran-backed Islamist militia.
"The Framework Agreement in Washington is a humiliation, a disgrace, and a surrender of sovereignty," said Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem in a lengthy statement, reports Haartez.
