Jerusalem/Beirut, Aug. 15 -- The Hezbollah militia has criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following some of the strongest Israeli strikes carried out in southern Lebanon since the US-led trilateral agreement was implemented in late June.
According to the Iran-backed proxy group, the strikes in Ansar and Deir al-Zahrani killed 11 people, including women and children, as well as injured 12 others. Lebanon's Ministry of Health had earlier put the death toll at nine.
Issuing a statement, Hezbollah accused Netanyahu of deliberately escalating the war in Lebanon for domestic political purposes and to satisfy Israel's far right.
