Beirut, Aug. 29 -- Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem on Friday again rejected a framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon, saying the Iran-backed militia would not surrender or accept arrangements involving its disarmament, nearly six months after the latest war with Israel began.
"We are against the framework agreement and call for its downfall," Qassem said in a televised address broadcast by Hezbollah's Al-Manar television.
Israel and Lebanon began US-sponsored direct talks after Hezbollah dragged Lebanon into the Iran war after it attacked Israel on March 2. The IDF subsequently responded with heavy airstrikes and a ground offensive that Lebanese authorities say has killed more than 4,300 people.
