Ranchi/ Kokrajhar (Assam), March 28 -- Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday began his party's election campaign in Assam, addressing a public meeting in Gossaigaon constituency in support of JMM candidate Frederickson Hansda.

Addressing the gathering, Soren said the election was about ensuring rights and opportunities for tribal and marginalised communities and urged voters to remain cautious of inducements during polls.

He said workers in Assam's tea gardens had contributed significantly to the economy but were yet to receive their due rights, and asserted that his party stood with them.

Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Soren alleged that it made promises during elections but failed to fulfil them.
