Ranchi, June 16 -- Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday inaugurated the three-day Jharkhand Agriculture Produce and Trade Fair-2026 at Morabadi Ground here and called for greater adoption of modern farming practices, water conservation and organic cultivation to strengthen the state's agriculture sector.
Addressing farmers, scientists and stakeholders, Soren said nearly 80 per cent of Jharkhand's population depends on agriculture and warned that climate change and declining groundwater levels pose serious challenges to future food security.
