Patna, July 30 -- Polling for the Bankipur Assembly by-election began at 7 a.m. on Thursday amid tight security arrangements.
Even before polling commenced, voters, especially morning walkers, were seen outside several polling booths.
District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate Kundan Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K. Sharma said extensive security measures have been put in place to ensure free, fair, and peaceful polling. Fourteen companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been deployed across the constituency.
In addition, the administration has deployed nine Flying Squads, 18 Static Surveillance Teams, six Video Surveillance Teams, three Video Viewing Teams, and 42 Sector Magistrates. A district-le...
