Hamirpur (HP), May 3 -- Normal life in the district was paralyzed on Sunday morning following heavy rains coupled with repeated dust-storms as a result the temperature sharply fell and caused widespread damage to the Wheat crops lying in various parts of the district in fields for threshing operations.
Though the sky was cloudy in the early morning hours, it started raining around 7.00 A.M and continued for more than three hours.
Reports of heavy damage to standing trees of pine have also been received from different parts of the district. Notably, Hamirpur district is known for its pine trees.
