Aizawl, July 9 -- Relentless monsoon rain continued to disrupt normal life across Mizoram today, triggering floods, landslides and rockfalls that forced evacuations, severed key road links and left hundreds of travellers stranded.

No casualties have been reported so far.

In Tlabung town of Lunglei district along the Bangladesh border, 46 families were evacuated after the Khawthlangtuipui river rose above the danger level, threatening residential areas. The displaced families have been shifted to relief shelters set up at the Border Trade and Facilitation Centre, a middle school and the Young Mizo Association (YMA) community hall. Earlier, four houses at Chawnpui locality were destroyed in a landslide.
