Panchkula, July 11 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places in northern parts of Haryana and Punjab till July 12, while predicting continued monsoon activity accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across both states over the next few days.

According to the IMD's evening weather bulletin issued by the Meteorological Centre, Chandigarh, light to moderate rainfall occurred at many places in Punjab and at a few places in Haryana during the past 24 hours, while heavy rain was recorded at isolated places in both states. Thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, were also reported at isolated locations in Haryana and Punjab.
