Pune, April 16 -- While Vidarbha continues to reel under intense heat, the weather in Konkan, Mumbai city, and its suburbs is expected to remain hot and humid. Temperatures across the rest of Maharashtra have crossed the 40degC mark.
Considering the prevailing hot wind conditions, a yellow alert has been issued for Sangli, Solapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, Akola, and Wardha.
Meanwhile, pre-monsoon clouds are likely to hover over Marathwada and parts of central Maharashtra.
In the last 24 hours, Akola recorded the highest temperature at 44.2degC, while Amravati touched 44degC.
Due to the rising heat, authorities have declared a holiday today for anganwadis, primary, and secondary schools in Wardha.
