Nagpur, April 17 -- In view of the ongoing heatwave conditions, all schools and colleges in Nagpur will remain closed on April 18 as a precautionary measure, according to a release issued by the district administration.
The decision has been taken to ensure the safety and well-being of students as temperatures continue to rise sharply across the region.
Authorities said the directive was issued considering the intense heat and the increased risk of heat-related illnesses, particularly among children.
Nagpur and several parts of Vidarbha have been witnessing extremely high temperatures, with the mercury crossing 42-43degC in recent days.
