Washington, May 21 -- The US response to the growing Ebola outbreak in central Africa has triggered a fresh wave of warnings from public health experts regarding the Trump administration's global health policies, and how they will serve to weaken the world's ability to respond quickly to dangerous epidemics.
The outbreak, which has already resulted in nearly 600 suspected cases and 139 deaths, according to health officials, with infections reported in parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and South Sudan, has become a major point of contention between Washington and the WHO.
