Kolkata, July 31 -- The West Bengal Health Department cancelled the licence of a private clinic on Friday at Nodakhali in South 24-Parganas for allegedly transferring an ultrasonography (USG) machine without mandatory official approval, following an inquiry linked to its reported use at a Sebaashray medical camp.
The action comes days after the USG machine was seized by the police during an investigation into alleged violations of statutory norms governing the operation and movement of diagnostic equipment. According to the police, the machine was recovered from a hospital at Kapahat in the Diamond Harbour area and subsequently kept in the malkhana (police storeroom) of Diamond Harbour police station.
