Bengaluru, Aug. 7 -- When Ajay Nanavati was offered a monthly salary of just Rs 960 by Tata Consultancy Services in 1977, he was not impressed.
A chemical engineering graduate who had completed his education in the United States, Nanavati had returned to India expecting his qualifications to fetch him a lucrative job. Instead, the TCS offer left him questioning whether he had made the right career choice.
There was another complication. Nanavati had better-paying offers from other companies.
