Kolkata, June 18 -- The internal conflict within the Trinamool Congress over the post of Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly has now reached a crucial stage both in court and within the legislature.

The Calcutta High Court is expected to deliver its verdict on Thursday in the case concerning recognition of rebel MLA Ritabrata Bandyopadhyay as the Leader of the Opposition.

Amid anticipation over the court ruling, the Ritabrata-Akharuzzaman camp has started preparing for any possible political developments.

The rebel faction claimed that support in its favour has increased steadily over time.
