Aizawl, May 28 -- In a significant development for Mizoram University, the Aizawl Bench of the Gauhati High Court has ordered the removal of Prof. Lalnundanga from the post of Registrar after ruling in favour of petitioners who challenged his reappointment for a second term.
The judgment, delivered on Wednesday, came after months of legal proceedings surrounding allegations of irregularities in the process through which Prof. Lalnundanga was reappointedas Registrar of the Central University by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dibakar Chandra Deka.
The case was filed by two candidates who had participated in the selection process for the Registrar's post but later approached the court questioning both the procedure and the legalityof the appointment....
