Kolkata, July 2 -- The Kalighat faction of the Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee failed to secure immediate relief from the Calcutta High Court on Thursday in connection with the freezing of party bank accounts, with three accounts set to remain frozen for now.

Hearing the matter, Justice Sougata Bhattacharya sought an affidavit from the concerned bank authorities over the freezing of the party accounts.

The court directed the banks to submit their responses by next Tuesday.

The judge also asked the police to file a report detailing the progress of the investigation.
