Bengaluru, July 10 -- The Karnataka High Court on Friday reserved its verdict on the appeal filed by Congress MLA and former minister Vinay Kulkarni against his conviction and life sentence in the 2016 murder of BJP leader and Zilla Panchayat member Yogish Gowda, in a decision that c far-reaching legal and political consequences.

A Division Bench comprising Justice Mohammed Nawaz and Justice G Basavaraja concluded hearing extensive arguments from the defence and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) before reserving judgment on Kulkarni's plea seeking suspension of his conviction and life sentence, along with bail pending disposal of his appeal.
