Shimla, Feb. 28 -- In a significant ruling concerning the management of the internationally renowned Kullu Dussehra festival, the High Court of Himachal Pradesh has set aside the decision of the Dussehra Festival Committee to forfeit earnest money and performance security deposited for installation of German Hangers at Dhalpur ground.
The Division Bench comprising Chief Justice G.S. Sandhawalia and Justice Jiya Lal Bhardwaj allowed a writ petition filed by M/s Zenith-Event & Services, which had been allotted four German Hangers during Kullu Dussehra 2023.
The firm had deposited Rs 16 lakh as earnest money and performance security in terms of the tender conditions. However, the authorities forfeited Rs 15,67,597, refunding only Rs 46,887, ...
