Mumbai, May 21 -- In a relief to the former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey and advocate Shekhar Jagtap, the Bombay High Court has quashed the FIRs registered against them in connection with an FIR filed by businessman Sanjay Punamiya.
Punamiya alleged that a case against him was deliberately reopened to force him to make statements against Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Shinde in an urban land ceiling scam.
A special bench of Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Suman Shyam, was constituted as per the direction of the Apex court which had heard petitions filed by Pandey, Jagtap and other individuals seeking quashing of the FIRs registered at the Thane and Colaba police stations....
