Hazaribag (Jharkhand), April 16 -- A farmer in Jharkhand's Hazaribag district has adopted strawberry cultivation using greenhouse technology, generating higher income and diversifying his agricultural practices, officials said on Thursday.
Dinesh Ganjhu, a resident of Mayatu village in Katkamdag block, has taken up strawberry farming on one acre of land with support from the district horticulture department.
Officials said he was provided a greenhouse and around 20,000 strawberry plants under government schemes, enabling him to adopt modern farming techniques.
Ganjhu is currently producing around 1,000 packets of strawberries daily, earning an estimated Rs 20,000 per day from market sales.
