Bhiwani, Oct. 12 -- Bhiwani Police have warned residents against cyber fraud involving fake traffic challans and government notices, urging them to verify messages through official channels before making payments or sharing personal and banking details.
As part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the police are conducting awareness programmes under the theme "STOP-THINK-TAKE ACTION" in schools, colleges, villages and public places.
A team from the Cyber Crime Police Station, led by Vishnu Kumar, held an awareness programme at Kaluwas village, explaining how fraudsters impersonate government departments, traffic police and courts to threaten people with penalties or legal action and trick them into clicking fraudulent links.
