Chandigarh, July 21 -- In a major policy shift aimed at tackling Haryana's growing water stress, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has ordered that treated wastewater be supplied to thermal power plants and industrial units, replacing the use of fresh water and conserving precious groundwater and drinking water resources.

Chairing a high-level review meeting on the Reuse of Treated Wastewater (TWW) Policy, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that not a single drop of treated water goes waste.
