Panchkula, June 19 -- In a significant move to further strengthen law-and-order management and enhance emergency response capabilities, Haryana Police has constituted five Special Law-and-Order Companies in Gurugram district.

The initiative is aimed at ensuring rapid deployment of police personnel during emergencies, public protests, crowd-control situations, communal tensions, VIP movements and disaster management operations.

More than 500 police personnel have been deployed in the newly created companies, which will function under the leadership of five Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs).
