Panchkula, Aug. 8 -- Haryana Police on Saturday arrested 18 accused in a major crackdown on cyber fraud, drug trafficking, illegal weapons and property offences in Panchkula and Hisar, officials said on Saturday.

During the first six days of 'Operation Trackdown', launched on August 1, Panchkula Police arrested nine accused in nine cases and recovered four country-made pistols, 402 grams of heroin, 1.565 kg of opium and 864 bottles of illegal liquor, a police spokesperson said.

DCP Crime and Traffic Amrinder Singh, IPS, said some of those arrested were allegedly involved in drug trafficking. Police are questioning them to gather information about others suspected to be part of drug and illegal arms supply networks.
