Panchkula, Aug. 18 -- Haryana Police has launched action against the misuse of police identity and the display of illegal weapons on social media, with a case registered against unidentified persons allegedly seen wearing Haryana Police uniforms without authorisation in Sirsa, while Hisar Police arrested a man for uploading an Instagram photograph with an illegal pistol to allegedly create fear.
A Haryana Police spokesperson said that Sirsa City Police registered a case based on a complaint after a video circulated on social media showed two persons wearing Haryana Police uniforms at a clothing showroom on Circular Road.
The two were allegedly seen taking a person into the showroom while describing him as a thief.
