Panchkula, July 3 -- Haryana Police has arrested a man for allegedly orchestrating a transport booking fraud that led to the misappropriation and sale of more than 10 tonnes of iron scrap worth several lakh rupees.
The vehicle used in the crime has been recovered from Ludhiana, while Rs 3.20 lakh traced to the accused's bank account has been frozen.
Police spokesperson said the accused has been identified as Gurupratap Singh, a resident of Sawan Enclave, Ludhiana, Punjab. Following his arrest, he was interrogated in police custody before being remanded to judicial custody.
