Panchkula, June 2 -- The Haryana Government has notified the Haryana Police (Amendment) Act, 2026, introducing a revised framework for the functioning of State and District Police Complaint Authorities and laying down clearer procedures for the inquiry and disposal of complaints against police personnel.

The amendment, which has received the assent of the Governor and has been published in the Haryana Government Gazette, replaces key provisions of the Haryana Police Act, 2007 relating to police complaint authorities. The move is aimed at streamlining the complaint redressal mechanism and clearly defining the jurisdiction and powers of the authorities at the state and district levels.
