Panchkula, June 24 -- The Haryana Labour Department has directed industries, factories, construction companies and other employers across the state to take immediate measures to safeguard workers from extreme heat conditions and heatwave-related illnesses.

A spokesperson for the Labour Department said that the department has reiterated its heatwave preparedness advisory and instructed field officers to ensure strict compliance by industrial establishments, factories, mines and construction sites. The directions have been issued in view of the continuing heatwave conditions and the need to protect workers exposed to prolonged outdoor and high-temperature working environments.
