Panchkula, Sept. 14 -- Haryana has directed in-service teachers who had more than five years of service left as on September 1, 2025, but have not cleared the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET), to qualify the test within three years or quit service, failing which they may face compulsory retirement.

The Directorate of School Education has issued the directions in compliance with Supreme Court orders dated September 1, 2025 and May 29, 2026.

According to the notice, teachers who had more than five years of service remaining as on September 1, 2025 and had not passed HTET must qualify the examination in the subject and level concerned within three years.

"Otherwise, they shall have to quit services or they may be compulsorily retired...
