Panchkula, June 2 -- In a major legislative push to curb fraud in the booming overseas travel and education consultancy sector, the Haryana Government has significantly expanded the scope of its travel agent regulation law, bringing visa consultants, study-abroad facilitators, travel planners and a host of other overseas service providers under a stricter legal framework.

The Haryana Registration and Regulation of Travel Agents (Amendment) Act, 2026, notified in the Official Gazette in Tuesday, seeks to plug loopholes in the existing law and strengthen safeguards for students, tourists, and other citizens seeking services related to foreign travel.
