Chandigarh, July 28 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday rolled out an ambitious plan to transform the state's cooperative sugar sector.
He challenged mills to achieve a target of 130 crushing days and a 10 per cent sugar recovery rate, while urging a surge in sugarcane cultivation through drip irrigation, the adoption of mechanised harvesting, and the launch of Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants.
With a sharp focus on transparency and efficiency, he mandated that all cooperative financial transactions move online, pressed government departments to buy sugar from cooperative mills, and championed the full use of agricultural machinery and assets across federations.
