Chandigarh, Oct. 7 -- Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday directed officials to ensure timely lifting of paddy and bajra procured from mandis across the state and said farmers should not face any inconvenience in selling their produce during the ongoing kharif procurement season.
Chairing a review meeting here, Saini said the entire procurement process, from purchase and lifting to payment to farmers, should function smoothly and efficiently. Officials informed him that about five lakh quintals of paddy had been procured so far, following which the Chief Minister directed that lifting be expedited to prevent stocks from accumulating in mandis.
