Panchkula, Aug. 25 -- Almost seven out of every 10 paneer and dairy-like samples tested in Haryana did not meet the required standards, leading the state government to impose a one-year complete ban on making, processing, storing, transporting, and selling analogue or non-dairy paneer across the state.
Lab tests on 285 samples collected across Haryana from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026 found that 200, or about 70 per cent, did not meet standards. Of these, 171 were below standard, and 29 were unsafe, according to a Haryana Government Gazette notification.
