Chandigarh, June 30 -- The Haryana Government has approved a hike of Rs 2,100 in the monthly wages of rural sanitation workers, increasing their remuneration from Rs 16,000 to Rs 18,100 with effect from July 1.
Announcing the decision on Tuesday, Haryana Cabinet Minister Krishna Bedi said the wage revision fulfils the assurance given by the state government during the sanitation workers' agitation. He said the enhanced salary reflects the government's commitment to improving the financial security and welfare of sanitation workers serving in villages across the state.
