Panchkula, June 17 -- The Haryana Police have registered a criminal case in connection with a viral objectionable video allegedly affecting the dignity and safety of women and have initiated action to secure its removal from social media platforms.

According to Police spokeman,, the case was registered at DLF Phase-2 Police Station under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act and Sections 294, 353(3), 75(2) and 75(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police said the action was taken following a complaint received from the National Commission for Women (NCW). The police also took suo motu cognizance of the matter and launched an investigation into the viral content.
