Panchkula, Sept. 15 -- A factory worker from Bihar was allegedly beaten to death by his friend following an argument while they were drinking alcohol at Sevli village in Sonipat district, police said on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Anuj Gupta, a native of Bhagalpur in Bihar, who was living in a rented accommodation in the village and working at a factory that dyes jeans.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Malkeet Singh said Gupta was drinking with his friend when an argument broke out between them over some issue. The altercation allegedly turned violent, and his friend assaulted him.
