Panchkula, Sept. 14 -- Haryana Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh today announced a Rs 10-lakh grant for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their dependents, saying the country owed not only remembrance but sustained support to soldiers and the families they leave behind.
Honouring Veer Naris at a function in Panchkula, Ghosh said caring for the families of fallen soldiers and ensuring dignity and rehabilitation for veterans was a responsibility shared by the government and society.
"The sacrifices of soldiers, ex-servicemen, veterans and Veer Naris must never be forgotten. Their families must receive the respect, care and support they truly deserve," he said.
